Verhoornde huid betekenis
Hyperkeratose, ook wel bekend als hyperkeratosis, is een huidaandoening waarbij bepaalde huidgebieden verhoornen, wat resulteert in een verdikking van de huid. Deze verdikking ontstaat door een verhoogde productie van keratine, een taai, vezelachtig eiwit dat normaal gesproken in de huid, het haar en de vingernagels voorkomt. Wat is hyperkeratose (verhoorning van de huid)? Hyperkeratose is een verdikking of verhoorning van een stuk huid. Een stuk of grote delen van je hoornlaag, het meest oppervlakkige deel van je opperhuid, voelt dikker en stugger aan dan de huid eromheen.
